Description:
The Mercedes 190 SL (W121BII) was created at the suggestion of the US importer Max Hoffmann. The first prototype was presented in New York in 1954 and was enthusiastically received by the public and the trade press. The slightly modified production model was then shown at the Geneva Motor Show in 1955. The beautifully designed roadster embodied the “we-are-who-again” feeling of the economic miracle era like no other vehicle. With 25,881 vehicles built, the model proved to be extremely successful, especially in the USA. Many celebrities such as Grace Kelly, Alfred Hitchcock or Frank Sinatra presented themselves with the roadster.
This exceptionally beautiful Mercedes was 1956 delivered to the USA and returned to Germany in the 1990s. The vehicle was completely restored a few years ago by renowned 190 SL expert.
