    Description:

Mercedes-Benz introduced the W113 model at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1963 as the successor to two models at once: the 300 SL and the 190 SL. The new roadster, commonly known as the “Pagoda” due to the distinctive shape of its removable hardtop, replaced both. The W113 was the first SL to feature a safety body structure. Its floorpan, suspension and steering were largely derived from the contemporary S-Class (W111). Between 1963 and 1971, a total of 48,912 examples were produced.

The Mercedes-Benz 280 SL offered here was imported from the United States to Germany several years ago and subsequently underwent a complete restoration under the supervision of its current owner, who is the proprietor of a Mercedes-Benz dealership. During the restoration, the car was visually converted to European specifications. The stamped engine number and the attractive Light Ivory colour correspond to the original delivery specification.

A Classic Data valuation report and the Mercedes-Benz data card are available. The restoration is comprehensively documented with numerous invoices. The vehicle is currently registered in Germany.

Engine: 2.8-litre inline six-cylinder, 160 hp (factory specification)
