Description:
The Mercedes-Benz 300 S (W 188 I) was presented at the Paris Motor Show in October 1951 and was available as a coupé, cabriolet or roadster. It was based on the Type 300, but had a chassis shortened by 15 cm and an increased compression ratio, which boosted output to 150 hp. The 300 S is considered to be one of the last German cars that is stylistically reminiscent of the great era of classic automobiles.
The cabriolet offered here was delivered in Düsseldorf on 26/06/53 and is one of only 203 examples built. The car was extensively and completely restored by a German specialist workshop. It is an exceptional vehicle that also offers a high degree of originality thanks to its ‘matching number’. The attractive mid-blue colour scheme with grey leather interior gives the car an elegant appearance.
A rare opportunity to acquire one of the most exclusive Mercedes-Benz classics in outstanding condition.
