    Description:

The 300 SL as gullwing was introduced at the “International Motor Sports Show” in New York which took place from 6 to 14 February 1954. Mercedes-Benz received an enormously positive visitor response on the 300 SL and started series production at the Sindelfingen plant in August 1954. In 1957 the Gullwing was finally replaced by the 300 SL Roadster.

Between 1957 and 1963 a total of 1.858 300 SL Roadster were produced, only about 210 of them in the version with disc brakes and aluminium engine.

The MB 300 SL Roadster with aluminum engine and disc brakes was completed at the factory in May 1962 and delivered in Europe. In the 70`s the car was sold to the USA where it was located at very well traceable, best addresses. Based on its superbly maintained original condition, the car was carefully partially restored and completely disassembled. The paintwork was renewed on the bare body and the technology was extensively overhauled. Beside the fantastically original interior, all numbers, embossing and nameplates are still original and correspond to the delivery specifications. A complex valuation report with originality check before overhaul of the vehicle is available.
With a manufactured number of only about 210 vehicles, the 300 SL Roadster with disc brakes and aluminium engine is a sought-after rarity in collector circles.
