    Description:

The Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster was introduced in 1957 as the open-top successor to the legendary 300 SL Gullwing. With just 1,858 examples produced between 1957 and 1963, it is among the most desirable and valuable classic cars in automotive history. Of these, approximately 270 late-production cars were equipped with disc brakes from the factory.

The Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster presented here is one of the highly desirable examples featuring the cast-iron engine and factory-fitted disc brakes. According to the original Mercedes-Benz data card, the car was delivered new in White with Red leather interior. The accompanying number report confirms that the stamped numbers of all major technical components — engine, gearbox, rear axle, front axles (left and right), and steering box — correspond with the numbers documented at the Mercedes Benz data card, confirming the car’s matching-numbers configuration. A registry extract confirms the car’s ownership history during its time in the United States, with a total of five registered owners. Some years ago, the 300 SL underwent a partial restoration carried out by renowned specialist Paul Russell. In 2017, the car made its way to Germany via the Netherlands and has remained in the collection of a German classic-car enthusiast ever since. The car is accompanied by its factory-style hardtop and matching luggage set. A comprehensive number report has been prepared.

An exceptional 300 SL Roadster in a highly desirable specification, with an attractive and authentic colour combination.
