Description:
The powerful supercharged cars of the S-series go back to Dr. Ferdinand Porsche, who was then working as a senior engineer for Mercedes. The SSK was the most successful German racing car between 1928-1931 and one of the world’s best sports cars ever. The legendary Rudolf Caracciola celebrated with this model countless triumphs. So Mercedes won the “Grand Prix of Germany” in 1928 a and broke the winning streak of the Italians at the Mille Miglia for the first time.
Chassis no. 362xx was delivered in August 1929 to London as a 7.1 ltr. “SS” with a sporty touring coachwork. In 1982, the current owner bought the car and had it built up new for several years in first-class craftsmanship. The body and chassis were modified according to SSK specifications.
The driving characteristics are stunning!
