Description:
In 1986, Porsche founded the Porsche 944 Turbo Cup, its first championship with the aim to offer a cost-effective racing series not only for professionals. This should enable young upcoming drivers to gain experience under the same technical conditions alongside professional pilots. One year after the founding of the championship, the Porsche 944 Turbo Cup France was launched. The Cup racing cars were based on the Porsche 944 Turbo with various performance modifications.
This Porsche 944 Turbo was used in the Porsche Turbo CUP in France from 1987 and driven by André Bourdon. In the first year, he was runner-up in the Porsche 944 Turbo before winning the overall title in 1988. In 2006 the car underwent an extensive restoration and was painted in black. The car comes with a German road registration. Its racing record and the success story of Andre Bourdon are impressively documented. This is a rare opportunity to acquire a Porsche 944 Turbo CUP with a special motorsport history. An interesting Porsche for any collection and ideal for “affordable” motorsport and track days.
