With the Porsche 964, the Zuffenhausen-based company transported the 911 design into the 90s. The third generation of the Porsche 911 still relied on the proven concept of an air-cooled six-cylinder boxer engine in the rear, but offered plenty of technical innovations. The 2+2-seater sports car was launched in1989 and built until 1993. With a total of 63.762 units, the third generation (964) is the rarest of the 911s.
