Description:
Between 1995 and 1998 about 258 vehicles of the homologation model GT2 were built according to the literature, of which only a few were factory-made racing cars. The vehicle was sold by Porsche Motorsport to its first owner in November 1996 according to the present invoice and was used with Krauss Motorsport in the FIA GT and in the 24h race of Le Mans 1998 with the drivers Bernhard Müller, Michael Trunk and Erich Palmberger. The vehicle was converted at the factory to dual ignition for the 1998 season. Later, the car was given to Otto Altenbach, who used it sporadically in various racing series. A few years ago the Porsche was sold to an enthusiast and collector. The bodyshell of the GT2 was completely overhauled by a specialist from 2015 – 2017. The car still has its original engine and gearbox (matching numbers), which were completely overhauled. The costs for the overhaul add up to more than 300.000€ and are documented by invoices and photos. The vehicle was painted in its original colour (grandprixwhite) and foiled according to its race livery in Le Mans 1998.
A rare opportunity to acquire a Porsche GT2 R in a mint condition. This promising investment is ideal for top-class motor sport events like “Le Mans Classic” and “Endurance Racing Legends”.
