Description:
The Alpine A110 was produced in Dieppe / France between 1962 and 1977 and was over many years successfully used in the international race- and rally sport events.
The best known results are the victories in the Rallye Monte Carlo, the winning of the Rallye European championship and Rallye World Championship 1971 and 1973.
In December 1965 this A 110 was delivered in the near of Avignon and was first registered in February 1966. On special request the 1100 Gordini-engine was equipped with double-Weber-carburettor and a big oil tray.
After several years in the USA the car returned back to Europe where it underwent a 6 years restoration process and the coachwork was upgraded by Auto Racing in France to the ultimate 1975-specification “Tour de Corse”. The paintwork was done according to the Renault colors yellow/white/black.
The rear frame was reinforced, a lightweight competition body by Alpine specialist “Autoracing Orthez” was mounted, the engine was enlarged to 1.800 cm³ and equipped with a Lucas mechanical fuel injection – a system which was only used on the Bernard Dudot works cars. A five-speed transmission, a centrally mounted 90-litre fuel tank, Gotti rims, four-wheel disc brakes are further features to be mentioned. An extensive photo file of the restoration is available.
The A110 comes with a German registration and historical approval.
