Description:
The sports car from Mercedes-AMG was presented for the first time on September 9, 2014 and came onto the market in spring 2015 in two performance levels. The body shell is manufactured and supplied by ThyssenKrupp System Engineering in Weinsberg. The vehicle is assembled at Mercedes in Sindelfingen. Various versions of the Mercedes-AMG GT were used as a safety car in Formula 1 between 2015 and 2020.
With the appearance of the AMG as a GT-R, this Mercedes can be understood as a clear counter bid on the RS models from Porsche.
