Description:
The Mercedes G 500 4×4² has one axle less than its big three-axle brother, the G 63 AMG 6×6, but still has what has already fascinated real off-road freaks with the 6×6: portal axles, which we otherwise know from the Unimog for 450mm ground clearance and 1,000mm fording depth! Thanks to the shorter wheelbase, the G 500 4×4² is also able to pass through inner-city areas easily. While the 6×6 shuffles hopelessly bulky through the undergrowth and calls out for the wide open prairie, the 4×4² actually wants to climb. Fully locked, the new Mercedes G 500 4×4² even climbs steep 100-percent ramps. The rest is done by the powerful four-litre biturbo V8, which challenges the limits of physics via the engaged gear reduction and a top speed of 210 km/h!
