    Description:

In 1957 Volkswagen introduced the convertible version of the Type 14. The convertible top is of very high quality and sets standards in processing, material and low noise. In con-trast to the Beetle Cabriolet, it is almost completely flush with the body line and gives the convertible an extremely elegant appearance. Exterior changes in 1961 included wider and finned front grilles, taller and more rounded rear tail-lights and headlights relocated to a higher position.

466.856 examples of the Type 14 were built from 1955 to 1974 and just 81.053 convertibles.

The Karmann Ghia Cabriolet presented here was delivered to San Francisco (USA) in 1968 and returned to Germany in 2013. A few years ago the vehicle was extensively restored on an almost rust-free basis. In the course of the restoration, the engine was performance optimized using a reinforced HJ-crankcase and a cubic capacity expansion. A FIVA passport and a VW delivery certificate come with the car. A rare opportunity to acquire a Karmann Ghia Type 14 Cabriolet in a beautiful colour combination in excellent condition.

Optimized 4-cylinder Boxer engine, Weber twin carburettor, approx. 120 hp
