Description:
Based on the success of the 3500 GT and Sebring models, Maserati had engaged Pietro Frua to create a new design on the chassis of the Tipo 109. The two-seater coupé was named Mistral after the strong Mistral winds on the Mediterranean coast in the south of France. The coupé was an immediate success and, thanks to high demand, remained in the range until 1970. In the course of production, coupés and open spiders were offered with a few different powertrains.
Only 383 coupés were made with the 3.7-litre engine, of which this is one of the earlier cars.
This 3700 Coupé was completely “body-off” restored and technically optimised a few years ago with considerable effort by specialised companies in more than 1,800 working hours. An extensive photo documentation, numerous invoices and a detailed description of the entire restoration process are available.
Also available are the Maserati Classiche certificates and an appraisal.
