Mercedes introduced the 190 E 2.3-16V in 1985 – the engine was developed by well known english Engine-Specialist Cosworth . The car became a milestone for the Motorsport Activities of Mercedes-Benz. In the end of 1988 Mercedes introduced the next step : the 190 E 2.5-16V. Now availiable also with automatic transmission because of high demand from customers. This engine was then the basis for the special models EVO 1 and EVO 2.
This particular 2.5-16V was delivered new to Japan in Mai 1989 in this colour combination. The car came to the EU-Part of Ireland some years ago – where it received a technically and optically refresh. Invoices of more than 10.000 Euro come with the car. This 190 E 2.5-16 V is one of the very few and much sought after Version without KAT – which means that the engine output is 204 PS ! The car did only 145.000 km and comes with fresh TÜV (MOT ).
