Description:
The small British car company Frazer Nash mainly built sports cars from 1924 to 1957. After the Second World War Frazer Nash cooperated closely with the Bristol works and took over their engine, which in turn came from a cooperation with BMW. The pre-war engine of the BMW 328 was revised by Bristol and made almost 100 hp. Frazer Nash only produced 14 Targa Florio vehicles. In 1951 Franco Cortese won the Targa Florio in Sicily. That’s why the Sportroadster was named after the famous race in Sicily.
This Frazer Nash Targa Florio is the first of only 5 examples of the second series, which differed in bodywork and an improved Bristol/BMW engine (BS4). In 1953 the car was ordered in red with red leather by Mr. Patell, who took it to East Pakistan, today’s Bangladesh. Due to the unrest in the region, the car was returned to England with its first owner in 1974. All other owners of this Targa Florio are known. The car took part in many important races and events, including the 1999 Targa Florio revival. It is extensively documented. With Fiva Pass.
