    Description:
The Mercedes-Benz 230 S represents the timeless elegance and technical solidity of the 1960s. Particularly rare are the “Universal” versions produced by the Belgian company IMA, which combine the practicality of an estate car with classic Mercedes-Benz design. The smooth-running inline six-cylinder engine, together with the high level of craftsmanship, makes this model a highly sought-after classic. Today, these vehicles rank among the rarest collector’s items with significant appreciation potential. Based on the W111 saloon series, only a limited number of examples were produced, making them some of the most desirable variants of the model line. The vehicle presented here stands out with its exceptional overall condition, an attractive colour combination in Arabian Grey/Ivory, and a high-quality dark red interior. During the ownership of a previous custodian – a Mercedes-Benz specialist – the car was comprehensively restored and technically optimized several years ago, as documented in an article by the German magazine Oldtimer Praxis. As part of this work, the vehicle was upgraded with a 2.8-liter inline six-cylinder engine, as well as revised axle components with longer gearing and a disc brake system, resulting in noticeably improved driving performance. Approximately 200 vehicles were produced in this configuration based on the W111 saloon series. Due to this rarity, the car is regarded by connoisseurs as a particularly rare collector’s item and a valuable addition to any distinguished Mercedes-Benz collection.

    Engine: Inline six-cylinder, performance-optimized, 2.8 L, approx. 160 hp
