    The SL Series (R107), released in 1971 as the successor to the so-called “pagoda” (W 113), established a new design line at Mercedes-Benz with the broadband H4 headlamps and the large fluted taillights. The appearance of the R107 was stylistic for the Mercedes-Benz design in the 70s.

    A total of 237,287 examples were produced from 1974 to 1989, of which only 13,742 units of the 300 SL (R 107 E 30)!
