    Description:

    Designed to win the Le Mans 24-hour race, the slippery D-Type was produced by Jaguar Cars Ltd. between 1954 and 1957. Sharing the straight-six XK engine and many mechanical components with its C-Type predecessor its structure however was radically different. Innovative monocoque construction and aerodynamic efficiency integrated aviation technology in a sports racing car.

    This 1955 Short Nose D-Type has been built over a period of 7 years by some of the most well respected Jaguar experts in the world. It is a “Tool Room” copy to 1955 Short Nose Specification. Built to full FIA specification with valid FIA HTP papers it was raced in the Woodcote Trophy at the 2017 Silverstone Classic and participated in the Salon Prive Tour D’Elegance. The car comes with a German road registration.

    Bronze-welded tubular steel according to original drawing and with original materials. Monocoque solid aluminum, exact-to-drawing, with all correct size and spaced rivets.
    3.4 litre dry sump engine, according to D-Type specification, Weber carburetors and D-Type manifold.
    Full D-Type specification gearbox by Crosthwaith and Gardiner.
