Description:
The Shelby Daytona was made specifically for car racing, in particular to compete with Ferrari in the GT class.
Only 6 Daytonas were produced between 1964 and 1965. The body was designed by Pete Brock and manufactured by Carrozzeria Gransport in Italy.
Bob Negstad was – as with the GT40 – responsible for the development of the chassis.
As engine the proven 4.7 ltr. Ford V8 was used and accelerated the scarcely 1043kg heavy car in only 4.4 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h. The final speed was more than 300 km/h (factory data).
