Description:
Maserati unveiled the Sebring in March 1962 at the Geneva Motor Show. After 348 examples of the first series had been built, Maserati introduced a lightly revised second series in 1965 with a new headlamp arrangement and chrome louvres on the front wings, of which only 247 examples were built. The Maserati Sebring 3500 GTI Series II is one of the rarest Gran Turismo coupés of the 1960s.
This car from the second series was delivered with the 3.5-litre engine and Lucas fuel injection. According to the surviving Maserati certificate, the car was completed in March 1966 and travelled to the USA before later returning to Europe. The current owner acquired the car in 2015 and it has since been part of this high-calibre Maserati collection. Chassis and engine numbers match, meaning the car has matching number. It presents itself in an outstanding, partially restored original condition with an attractive colour scheme, documented by a Maserati certificate.
