Description:
The Mercedes 190 SL (W121BII) was created at the suggestion of the US importer Max Hoffmann. The first prototype was presented in New York in 1954 and was enthusiastically received by the public and the trade press. The slightly modified production model was then shown at the Geneva Motor Show in 1955. The beautifully shaped roadster embodied the “economic miracle” like no other vehicle. With 25,881 vehicles built, the model proved to be extremely successful, especially in the USA. Many celebrities such as Grace Kelly, Alfred Hitchcock or Frank Sinatra presented themselves with the roadster.
This exceptionally beautiful Mercedes in one of the most attractive colour combinations was delivered to Japan in 1959. At the end of the 1990s, the car returned to Germany via the USA and was completely restored by a brand specialist. Since then it has been in the hands of its second German owner for almost 20 years. During this time it has been regularly driven and serviced. The condition is excellent. Easy to drive, the 190 SL is the perfect touring convertible with a beautiful appearance.
