    Description:

The Swinging Sixties were just beginning to gain momentum when Jaguar made a brilliant design statement at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1961. With its bold proportions – long bonnet, short rear – the new Jaguar E-Type marked an era in which London set the tone in pop, fashion and art and became the Swing City of the world. Britishness becomes cool and trendy.
Inspired by Jaguar’s successful C-Type and D-Type racing cars, the E-Type rolled into a decade of optimism, hedonism and cultural revolution with a whopping 265bhp. It is often called “the most beautiful car in the world” and since 1996 an E-Type Roadster has enriched the permanent exhibition of the New York Museum of Modern Art as an automotive work of art.

From 1964 to 1968, a total of 7,827 examples of the Series 1 E-Type Roadster with 4.2-litre engine were manufactured.

The Jaguar E-Type OTS presented here was delivered to its first owner on 08 March 1965 via Jaguar Cars New York. The vehicle was extensively restored in the USA approx. 15 years ago in accordance with its delivery specifications. The available invoices document that the car has undergone regular technical maintenance and optimization within the last 10 years. Both the colour combination and the engine correspond to the factory delivery, as confirmed by the present Jaguar Heritage Certificate. This rare 4.3-litre roadster is in excellent condition and impresses with its sporty driving characteristics!
