    Description:

The racing driver Caroll Shelby used parts from his successful racing car (AC Shelby Cobra) to build a highly performance sports car based on the Ford Mustang Fastback. It could be ordered from the Ford Motor Company, was then converted by Caroll Shelby’s company and delivered as either a road car or a racing car. The first Shelby version of the Mustang appeared in 1965. All ’65 Shelbys were painted white with (optional) parallel blue stripes.

This Ford Mustang GT 350 was shipped from Shelby to Tasca Ford after its completion in 1965 and sold to its first owner Richard G. Leuchner in August 1966.  Its subsequent history is well documented in this available Shelby Register. In the 1990s, the car came from England to Sweden to Lars-Göran Andersson. Under his direction, the vehicle was fully restored and prepared for use in historic motorsport. In 2013, the car was sold to its last owner Hipólito Pires in Portugal. The vehicle was successfully raced in many Peter Auto events such as Le Mans Classic, Tour Auto and other series. The engine has recently been completely overhauled by Total Performance. An extract from the Shelby Register and many invoices from the 1960s are available.
